Crystal Oracle ~ Stichtite in Serpentine

Yesterday, I tried out a new oracle deck called the Crystal Oracle, Guidance from the Heart of the Earth by Toni Carmine Salerno. There are 44 cards in the deck – each of them has a picture of a crystal or mineral on the card along with its name. The cards are fairly large and on nice, heavy cardstock with a shiny finish. Some of the pictures on the cards are very pretty and others aren’t much to look at – just a close up of a rock or mineral. The book has a full page for each of the cards giving key words or phrases along with an in-depth meaning. The deck comes in a very nice box – like a small sturdy cigar box.

Crystals and pretty stones have interested me since I was a little girl. We used to have a family friend who was a rock hound and I loved the polished agates he would give me. I found this deck in a small metaphysical store in a nearby town where we went for a day trip last Thursday.

The card I drew yesterday is Stichtite in Serpentine – I’ve never heard of that before. My husband hadn’t heard of it either and he is a Metallurgical Engineer! It’s hard to tell by the picture on the card what Stichtite in Serpentine really looks like as the picture is such a close-up shot.

The meaning of the card turned out to be insightful and very relevant for me. The keywords are: Meditation, Clearing Your Energy Centers and Detoxifying Your Thoughts. Here is an excerpt from the in-depth meaning:

“Fear and negative thoughts are preventing you from experiencing peace and joy in your life. They are blocking your creativity, and as a consequence, you life seems dull and dreary.”

It then goes on with a visualization and meditation to use to surround yourself with the love of the universe which actually seemed to work quite well when I did it.

The card and its message did help me get past the deaths of Jane and the kittens a bit more. I’m still missing them a lot but feel more resigned to the whole thing – not comfortable, just resigned. This week is going to be a very busy one so I won’t have time to mope which is a good thing.

All in all, I’m pleased with this deck. Some of the pictures could be better, I think, but the deck seems insightful and helpful. It is very well made of good card stock with a very sturdy box. I think it would be cool to get a small stone for each of the cards in the deck and after you drew a card you could actually hold that stone in your hand while you read the meaning of the card and did any visualization or meditation. I did get four of the stones at the metaphysical store while we were there – Amazonite, Chrysophase, Citrine and Rhodonite. They are pebble sized and were very inexpensive. Eventually, I hope to find all the stones in the deck.
