L’Horoscope Belline – Three Cards
Since I haven’t used my Horoscope Belline cards for a while, I decided to draw three cards from that deck today. While I was shuffling, I was thinking about what a fun and happy evening we had last night visiting with our “honorary” family. It was such fun just doing simple things like eating dinner and then playing games afterwards.
Here are the cards:
Book Meanings:
- Card 19 – Light: The symbol of intelligence, it recommends patience and comprehension.
- Card 39 – Ideal: The freshness, youth, the rush of the heart or the spirit. Spiritual or sentimental blossoming. Beauty of things and beings.
- Card 16 – Water: Symbolizes the sea, lakes, rivers and, of course, the journeys leading to water or on it.
The book meaning for the Water card is kind of limiting, I think. To me, the Water card could represent the cycles or ebb and flow of something. Also, since water is essential to life, the card could mean that – the essence. The lighthouse in the card could mean shedding some light on the essence.
I puzzled over these three cards for a long while this morning – I think they mean I’m am understanding or comprehending the true essence of the beauty of life. Being with people you love that love you in return is the most elemental, pure joy of life – it is the Ideal.
My husband and I are so blessed to have our “honorary” family.

The Teuila Fortune Telling Cards AND The Horoscope Belline Cards
Today, I ended up doing two card draws. First, I used the Teuila Fortune Telling Cards – the message that showed up is cute and kind of kitschy. Then I decided I would like a more serious sort of message so I took out the Horoscope Belline cards and while shuffling hoped to get a message for the upcoming year (tomorrow is my birthday).
Here are the Teuila Cards:

- Card 33 – Volcano: Excitement
- Card 39 – Loving Cup: Popularity, Entertainment
- Card 4 – Fair Woman
This made me laugh! I looks like it’s says there will be some excitement about a fair woman who is popular and is in entertainment (famous?) - a movie star! I drew one more card to clarify the fair woman – it turned out to be :
Card 12 – Mountains: Distance
So, perhaps, there will be some excitement about a popular, fair woman who is from a distant place or maybe I will be excited about seeing a movie star from a distance! It is one of those cute, gypsy kind of fortunes that probably won’t come true. We are going to Taos for dinner tomorrow evening – perhaps, I’ll see a celebrity there.
I love the Volcano card – such a good way to show excitement!
These are the Horoscope Belline cards I drew:

- Card 3 - Destiny: This major card symbolizes the gates of Destiny; it gives a prominent value to the card that goes with it. It heralds the opening of an era of peace, the possibility of a change or a new orientation.
- Card 19 – Light: This is the Symbol of intelligence. If placed next to Number 5 – Heights it announces success in enterprise or realisation.
- Card 5 – Heights: An improvement is in sight; a promotion, moving up in career, a change in material circumstances. This card is said to be in itself the card of Intuition and its interpretation extends to the Infinite.
Wow, what a nice reading to have on the eve of your birthday! It looks like it will be a successful year ahead for me. I was so pleased to see these good cards. The last three years have been hard ones for me and my husband, each summer we have lost something. Three years ago, my father passed away at this time – it was a such a shock and a huge loss. Two years ago, our son moved to the Philadelphia area and got married at this time of year - a joyful thing but we miss him and his wife so much. Last year, my husband lost his job after working for the same company for 28 1/2 years at this same time of year - that was so hard to take. I’ve been dreading this summer even coming as every summer seems to bring loss.
I’m really hoping that this wonderful message heralds a new time of joy and success rather than loss.

L’Horoscope Belline – Answer to a Question
Since my card draw yesterday was the High Priestess telling me I was brimming with intuition I decided today to ask the Horoscope Belline cards a question. While shuffling I asked the cards to tell me how things were going with a photograph I have entered in a contest at an on-line photography site to which I belong. These are the cards I drew:

- Card 37 – Danger: accidents, disorder, danger
- Card 22 – Magpie: swindling, theft, breach of confidence
- Card 33 – Enchained: trapped, weighed down, bound
Then I reshuffled the cards and drew one more card to clarify the reading and find out how things would end up with my picture. I drew:
Card 48 – Protection: very beneficent card, symbol of Grace, intuition, Providence, someone or thing able to protect you and illuminate your life.
This seems like such an accurate and apt answer to my question! So far, my picture is doing fairly well – not in the running for another ribbon but quite a good score. However, voting has been very harsh in this contest with lots of people giving out really low scores. The cards give a very literal answer – there is a danger that nasty voters giving out low scores will drag down the score of my picture but the Protection card at the end shows that it will hold its own and manage to do well in the contest. (I hope.)
The Horoscope Belline cards are really good for these kind of everyday questions – they seem like such practical, pragmatic cards. The artwork isn’t gorgeous or beautiful but they are a very simple, useful oracle. I like them a lot.

L’Horoscope Belline – Three Card Draw
Today, I did a three card draw from L’Horoscope Belline. While I was shuffling, I was thinking about how pleased I am that a photo I took ended up winning a Red Ribbon -2nd place out of 205 – in a Photography Contest that ended on Sunday evening. As I shuffled, I especially wanted to see if my pleasure could come through my hands into the cards.

These are the cards that turned up:
- Card 26 – Joy: agreeable happenings in life
- Card 19 – Light: insight, comprehension, intelligence, success
- Card 4 – Flower: a budding of life’s expectations
The cards actually did seem to absorb the mental energy I had at the time I was shuffling them. It really kind of amazed me! I interpret these to mean that my vision or creative insight in taking this picture blossomed into joy for me – not just in creating the picture but winning 2nd place.
If any of you have interpretations please post them – it gives such insight to see what other people see in the same group of cards.
This is my ribbon winning picture:

If you would like to see a larger version, you can click here:
It was taken at the Great Sand Dunes National Park in Colorado near where I live.
Sometimes, it just seems eerie how the cards can reflect your thoughts.

L’Horoscope Belline – 3 Card Draw

Today, I did a three card draw with L’Horoscope Belline. I just let my mind wander while shuffling – thinking over the things that are troubling me.
These are the three cards that turned up:
-
Card 1 - Man’s Thought: This card symbolizes man facing his destiny. It is the consultant himself. If the consultant is of the female sex, the card identified the husband, the son, the brother or the man to whom the person is attached.
-
Card 9 - Gifts: It means for the consultant the announcement of gifts delicately offered as a token of love, friendship, affection, the significance of which is to be seen as a free rush of the heart, an offering inspired by sincere feelings.
-
Card 38 – Zeal/Ardour: Fire and everything it symbolizes: human warmth, creation, spontaneity, purification.
I think there could be two ways of interpreting it:
-
A man (most likely my husband) will give me an actual gift that renews the fire of our relationship.
-
A man(again my husband) will let go of his anger and bad feelings and have human warmth and affection again which will be a gift for me.
Either way – it looks like good news. We had a difficult Easter weekend – hence the Queen of Swords showing up for a daily draw. Now it looks like things will get better again. My husband is a very ornery, cantankerous man and it gets harder and harder to cope with that the longer we are married – 30 years now.
I’m hoping these cards mean that he give me the sincere gift of being a warmer and more affectionate person – that would be a wonderful thing for both of us. (Of course, I wouldn’t refuse an actual gift either!)
*** The day I posted this reading my husband brought me home a little package of Licorice Pastels which he picked up on his way home from work (they are a favorite of mine). It was very sweet of him and cleared the air between us.***

L’Horoscope Belline Three Card Draw

-
No. 36 The Dragon: Personifies the outspoken enemy, declared rivalry, antipathy, useless arguing, bad faith.
-
No. 31 The Witch: It is the essentially wicked woman, symbol of jealousy, perfidy, envy.
-
No. 37 Dangers: This card stands for accidents, disorders, destruction in a literal and figurative sense, total collapse.
This three card draw with the L’Horoscope Belline is very negative – there aren’t that many negative cards in the deck and three of them ended up in this one spread! Usually this deck gives more positive messages.
I don’t really know what to make of it – it looks like a nasty sort of woman might want to cause some trouble in my life! It will be interesting to see if anything comes of it. I’m wondering if the witch could stand for a man if a man had that sort of witchy, nasty personality. These cards would make more sense to me if the witch stood for a man.
Even though this is a negative draw – I like this deck. I have no idea why it is called L’Horoscope Belline – it has nothing to do with horoscopes or astrology at all. It is a simple, straightforward oracle. Here is a link to view all the cards in the deck:
