Nigel Jackson Tarot ~ The End of the World??
No, I don’t think the end of the world is near! These two cards from the Nigel Jackson Tarot (also known as the Medieval Enchantment Tarot) might seem to say that but they don’t.

- 10 of Swords
- The World
The 10 of Swords is back again. I rather like this 10 of Swords – instead of the usual 10 swords sticking out of someone’s back, there are 10 swords in an arrangement on the top of the card and the illustration below shows a landscape that has been totally destroyed – everything is in ruins, there is nothing left to destroy.
For me, this shows one of the essential meanings of the 10 of Swords – there is simply nothing left to destroy. It is the darkest hour before the dawn, the bottom of the barrel has been reached and there is nowhere to go but up.
That is why I usually welcome the 10 of Swords – it indicates that the situation in your life that has been troubling you has finally reached its nadir or lowest point. The worst has come and now things will start to get better.
With The World following the 10 of Swords – it looks like there will be a brave new world to come now that the troubles are over. The World is a wonderful card – I like to think of it as everything has come full circle and now is the time to enter that period of happiness and fullfilment. To me, it speaks of finding what you are searching for – feeling whole, feeling happy with your life.
So, I really hope that the end has come for some of troubles in my life and that a bright new beginning is starting and will lead to happiness and wholeness.
