Oracle of the Triad – Three Cards
Today was one of those days when I was feeling upset and disgruntled with humanity – particularly some people! This evening, I shuffled up my Oracle of the Triad and drew three cards:
- Card 6 – Racine (Root): Origin, Foundation, Basis, The Past, Regression
- Card 4 – Mensonge (Lies): Betrayal, Hypocrisy, Viciousness, Falsehood
- Card 8 – Nadir: Fall, Loss, Darkness, Evil, Magic, Madness
The cards picked up on my mood so well. To me, these cards are saying that the root cause of my dark mood is the hypocrisy of some of the people I deal with in my life. This is so true – sometimes, I get so frustrated with people who say one thing and then do another. Quite a few people in my life are like this. There’s really nothing one can do about it – they shan’t change. The only thing to do is not let it bother you. That is easier said that done!
I wish that the booklet that came with the Oracle of the Triad explained the artwork on the cards. I’d love to know what some of it meant. The Racine (Root) card has some Kabbalistic symbolism. I don’t know very much about the Kabbalah - I did look it up and found out that very basically it is the study of the secret, inner meaning of the Torah. That does make sense for the Racine (Root) card – the inner meaning of something.
Nadir is kind of a cool card. The Nadir is the opposite of Zenith - in astronomical terms it means the point directly below the observer – the Zenith is the point directly above the observer. The term Nadir is used figuratively to mean the lowest point of a person’s spirits – just opposite of Zenith, the high point in a person’s life.

Oracle of the Triad – 3 Cards + 1 Card
Yesterday was not a good day at our house. My husband has been so cranky, bitter and downright nasty about putting new shingles on the north side of our house – he obviously hates doing it but wouldn’t hire someone to do it.
It got to the point yesterday that he was so full of anger that he was flinging bundles of shingles down on the roof so hard that it was shaking the house like an earthquake. A bunch of stuff fell down in my sewing/craft room; tons of stuff fell down in our storage room – I can’t even open the door now as it fell against the door as it fell down. Paintings are off the walls and the knickknacks fell off the mantelpiece.
By the time last evening rolled around we were both exhausted – him from working on the roof and being so angry and me from trying to stay out of his way and avoid the anger. So, we had a serious talk in the evening. It seemed to clear the air a bit which was a very good thing.
After he went to bed, I shuffled up my Oracle of the Triad (Oracle de la Triade) and thought about this whole anger thing with him and wondered if it was going to go on like this.
These are the cards that showed up:

From the book:
- Card 37 – Lumière: Enlightenment, Illumination, To see, Brightness, Celebrity
- Card 4 - Mensonge: Lie, Betrayal, Hypocrisy, Viciousness, Falsehood, Treachery
- Card 14 – Homme: Masculine, Humanity, Human, Boy
Then to clarify this reading I drew one more card:
Card 9 – Sagesse: Wisdom, Goodness, Honesty, Benevolent, Confidence, Good
For me, these cards brought such a hopeful message. I think the Mensonge (Lie) card in the center is the key – all the anger and bitterness and viciousness. The Man and Light card on either side show that the man is becoming enlightened – he can see this anger and what it is doing. Once you can see and understand something, then you can do something about it. The Sagesse/Wisdom card drawn to clarify the first three cards is a wonderful card to tell more about this reading! It looks like the man will now have the wisdom to do something about the anger and be a more benevolent person.
This reading made me feel so much better. Last night after we had our talk – I thought he had a better attitude. Now, I think he really does understand how destructive it is to always be filled with anger.
The Oracle of The Triad is a very serious deck – sometimes, I don’t like using it because it can come up with some unpleasant truths.
Now for something completely different! I’m almost done knitting a Tarot bag. Here’s a pic:

I thought of the idea a couple of days ago and it should be finished today. I’m using some leftover sock yarn which I used to knit a pair of socks for my Mom. I think I’m going to call the pattern Tarot Sock. The bottom is going to have a very cool rounded edge. That’s my Sharman-Caselli deck modeling. This size will fit the standard sized tarot deck.
