Cards of the Day
Lots of people think that Tarot and oracle cards are mostly for “fortune telling”. Today, I’d like to show how consulting the cards helps me with the ups and downs of everyday life.
This morning after my usual “stuff” - like taking care of my dog and 4 cats and cockatiel, I booted up the computer and checked my e-mail. There was a letter from a lady I’d gotten to know through her blog telling me that she was quitting blogging and had deleted her blog. She is a very private person and hadn’t wanted her blog publicized at all - didn’t want to be added to a blogroll or anything like that.
This really upset me for some reason and started me thinking about another blogger I miss – Aristede. Then, I got to thinking about blogging and wondering why I do it and if it was the right thing to do and yada, yada, yaha (you know how you can go round and round in your head). Then I started reading all my favorite blogs and thought about it even more – should I really be doing my own blog or just reading other people’s blogs? It was one of those times when you feel like everyone else does something better than you do.
Next, I sat down with my Sharman-Caselli Tarot to draw a card for the day. While shuffling, I was thinking about the whole blog thing and wondering why I blog and should I continue blogging – I fully expected I would draw something like the 8 of Cups. Surprisingly, the 3 of Cups turned up. Well, I thought, this card is totally unrelated to how I’m feeling or thinking right now. Then, I started to really think about it – that 3 of Cups was telling me why I blog! I get a lot of happiness from being a part of the blogging community and feeling a part of things – especially card things. After that, I felt so much better and could understand why blogging was important to me.
On a whim, I pulled out my favorite Lenormand deck – the Lenomand Oracle and drew three cards while asking – what can you tell me about all this? These are the cards I drew:

It’s so clear! My lucky stars stand between the ring and the sycthe- preventing a severed relationship. Drawing the 3 of Cups was the lucky intervention that stopped me from breaking off a relationship with blogging!
To me, today’s experience with the cards shows how helpful cards can be in everyday life. They allow you to look more closely at why you are thinking the way you are and have the vision to see if there is a better way of thinking. Kind of like giving yourself a kick up your own behind! I guess, what I’m trying to say is – Tarot and Oracle cards are valuable as psychological tools for knowing yourself better.

Sharman-Caselli Tarot: Two Cards
Today is our son’s 29th birthday. It has been two years now since he was married and moved to the Philadelphia area – we miss him and his wife so much. I remember so well the day he was born and the wonderful joy we both felt at having a child.
So, I decided to draw two cards from the Sharman-Caselli Tarot with the question in my mind – are things always going to be this way? Will all of us eventually be closer mentally and physically than we are now?
These are the two cards that showed up – The Wheel of Fortune and Temperance.

The first thing to take note of with these two cards is they are both from the Major Arcana so this message is very important and carries a lot of weight.
I can read many things in this small two card reading. Firstly, the Wheel of Fortune tells me of the inevitability of children growing up and moving away from home – it is part of the cycle of life. Then I can see that the wheel will keep turning and life will change again and, perhaps, our son and his wife will be closer to us spiritually if not physically. The Temperance card gives me great hope that as the Wheel of Fortune turns in the ongoing cycle of life we will build a harmonious, balanced relationship with our son and his wife which will bring joy to everyone.
They are so busy with their life now – buying and decorating a home, working and going to school. There is little time left for writing letters or talking on the phone. I think the Temperance card is saying that as the Wheel turns this will change and things will balance out and become much better than they are now.
The Temperance card is one of my favorite Tarot cards. Whenever it shows up, I feel lucky and blessed for some reason. So, this little reading has given me great hope and peace of mind that someday, we will have that warm, loving relationship with our son and his wife that we have missed so much since they moved away two years ago.
The Sharman-Caselli Tarot is one of my favorite Tarot decks – it was the one I used when I was first studying the tarot and I trust what it says to me.
